Portland Sumo

First established in 2019 as an offshoot of the original Northwest Sumo Association. Portland Sumo has grown from a handful of practitioners in a park into an established sumo club with ties up and down the west coast and across the US. We welcome all people that are interested in learning the art of sumo (no prior experience is needed), spectating, or wanting to contribute to the club in other ways. Each of our coaches brings years of personal martial arts experience with them to the dohyo (ring). The club travels to tournaments around the US as well as participates in regional cultural festivals showcasing the art fo sumo and the skills of our sumotori (wrestlers)

Portland Sumo's classes include Saturdays 4:30-6 PM at Bridgetown Judo
